Going to pottery last night was like Christmas morning! Hooray for glaze firings:

Lots of stuff, obviously, got finished. I couldn't locate a small vase, and I suspect that it may have been sacrificed to the kiln gods. I'll keep an eye open though. The cups in the upper right were candy red and leaches limestone, which apparently is a volatile mix, so they ran a lot and the smaller one had to be chipped off the shelf. It still looks cool though, and you best believe that I'll be using it! The gravy boat is awesome. I love the way it turned out, and the turtle is fabulous! The shell sure did fire on, but whatev. He's a decorative piece anyway, so there you go.
And speaking of Christmas, behold:

Christmas gifts for my sister and mom (by request). I threw a teapot last night--my first--which will also be a gift. Pictures of that to come when it is assembled.

i am going to laugh for days if in the end you end up being a potter. i never could get the hang of throwing...i need to try again and see if i can get it. i took a class with jon and naturally he didn't even have to try to have everything be perfect-i think it made it that much more discouraging for me. you're doing awesome.
