Finally some pictures! I threw this crazy looking bowl last week. It was a fairly good looking piece until I tried to cover it and the plastic caught it. I decided to go with it and make it a novelty item. I'll be glazing an iris and a pupil into it...

I also threw this one last week. It was too soft still to trim yesterday, but I will trim it eventually. And put a handle on it.

And these are the plates I threw yesterday. After moving into my new house I realized that I am short on plates, specifically of the salad variety. These turned out more the size of dinner plates, which is okay with me. Surprising as it may be, these were all made with the same amount of clay, 3.5 lbs of LBM. The one on the left turned out bigger, but I can't tell you specifically why. I have a feeling it's because I was able to center the lump faster than the other two, and therefore did not take as much clay off to start with.

I have quite a few glaze pieces that need to be fired, and not as many green pieces that need to be bisqued. The kiln is being loaded for a bisque, and they're going to have to do a glaze firing ASAP because there is little to no room left on the glaze shelves. The
turtle is being bisqued, as are the
gravy boat, the
heart bowl and this
cup. I was reminded last night that I need to start thinking about Christmas presents, which is a good idea seeing as two of last year's gifts were thrown in September and weren't finished until February.
