Cups for the Set (and a Handle)

I took the time to snap some pics in class last night. This first one is the small bowl that I said I would add a handle to. I like it more and more each time I see it, though it is pretty small. It's going to shrink even more after it goes through the bisque fire. Perhaps it will end up as an espresso mug!

The rest of these pics are of the mugs that will eventually be part of a complete dish set. These are the two that I threw last week:

As you can see, they are different sizes, but they are pretty much the same shape (more or less...). They haven't been trimmed yet. This one has though:

And obviously I've attached a handle. I've got to find a new method for handle making. Currently I pull them by hand. There is an extruder in the studio, and I could give that a shot...

I did throw the other mug (which turned out a lot like the one on the left in the picture above), and started in on the bowls for the set. The first bowl I threw did not turn out well, and I ended up scrapping it. The second one worked out better, which I was happy about. I'm out of new David's Porcelain, though I have been recycling the scraps. Cynthia promised there would be DP by next week, so I'll be able to continue on with the set. The recycled stuff (which has some Death Valley mixed in) will be used for something else.
